The plan for Winrock Town Center includes entertainment, retail, restaurant, office, residential, hotel and parking functions on the 80+ acre site of Winrock Mall.

Field Paoli created an overall urban design master plan for Winrock Town Center that premiers an extraordinary urban environment unique to Albuquerque. The plan for Winrock Town Center centers on a mixed-use program which includes a 70,000 square foot multi-screen / Imax theater, 130 room hotel, 180,000 square feet of office, retail and restaurant space, 444 residential units , over 6000 parking spaces, a landscaped community park, intimate courtyard spaces and a grand central plaza.

The plan design concept provides an extraordinary living, working and shopping environment. A combination of design strategies creates a traditional town center setting with tightly spaced streets, shaded wide pedestrian walkways and a mix of uses centered on a community park and central plaza. Narrower streets, on-street parking and special pavement slow traffic and contribute to the pedestrian friendly environment. Abundant strategically located parking (on-street, surface and structured) will allow visitors and residents to park once and walk throughout the town center.

Winrock Town Center is being specifically designed and modeled with the goal of achieving the highest LEED certification from the US Green Building Council. All elements of the project design and engineering will go through stringent tests to meet LEED certification. The development will showcase energy efficiency, resource conservation and strong community building.

Winrock Town Center will be an open environmental classroom and center where students and the general public can learn of the many sustainable green technologies designed into the town center. These learning opportunities will be highlighted in the public areas and incorporated into streetscape design features.

Winrock Town Center will be the center of commercial, social, educational and cultural life in Uptown Albuquerque.
